Modern AI systems hold many promises when applied in medicine. However, they also come with their own set of challenges. They are often not interpretable, they depend on large amounts of expert annotated data, and their outcome might deviate from the decision of a medical expert - just to name a few. Therefore, in this spring school, we would like to focus on these challenges by exploring the synergies of rule- and learning-based medical systems, not only from a computer science perspective, but also by considering ethical implications.
This spring school event addresses students on the verge of an accademic career with a strong base of knowledge and skills in artificial intelligence.
